Rubber Block for Koppers Joints
Characteristics
Koppers joints are prepared from high quality natural rubber and neoprene. They are used as a coupling in electric motors. Generally it has lower torsional stiffness than a flexible steel disk coupling, and provides additional cushioning. Cushioning limits the dynamic torque when operating near resonance.
– The maintenance and operation costs are low compared to the couplings normally used.
– The needed lubrication is low or almost zero, so the service requirements and test failure are non-existence.
– Resistant to ozone and to most chemical oxidants.
– High deformation resistance.
-Lifetime of 8 months or more.
– Cylindrical rubber block with high resilience to strain to joint type CB: coupling cushioning
Materials
– Mix of high quality neoprene and natural rubber vulcanized according to ASTM standards.
Uses and Applications
– Used in most electric motors.
– Commonly found in large systems of an engine.
Used Standards
-ASTM D 2240
– ASTM D 412
– ASTM D 365
